Amy in Cabo

AMY UYEMATSU, a sansei poet and teacher, has four published poetry collections: Stone Bow Prayer (2005), Nights of Fire, Nights of Rain (1998), and 30 Miles from J-Town (1992, winner of the Nicholas Roerich Prize), and The Yellow Door (2015). Amy also co-edited UCLA's widely used Roots: An Asian American Reader during the early 70's, when she was active in Asian American Studies. Her work is currently included in "Poetry Out Loud," a national student poetry program sponsored by the NEA and Poetry Foundation. (updated 5/2015)
